GEMS Winchester Private School, Fujairah, have embarked on a competition to build and race a Formula 24 car in collaboration with the GreenPower initiative. The final contest will involve a road race at Dubai Autodrome and our school will be pitted against other teams from across the emirates.
Green Power have designed the car for quick assembly, taking approximately 15 hours, leaving time to design and build the bodywork to match the team’s style. At GEMS Winchester, our students have been seeking sponsors to help them secure the best materials so they can look the part of pit crew and driving team when they get to testing the vehicle and for the exciting race day.
Along with the build team and drivers, students have also formed media and marketing teams to share the journey of the competition with our school community. Two of this team have written the below release to explain a bit more about what we have been doing:
“We would love to introduce to you the car that we’re currently building to take part in the Green Power initiative. This car is not only sustainably made but one of its special features is that it is battery charged and paired with a streamlined shape and four large wheels. Our engineering team has contributed greatly and put in lots of effort into the car that we hope is appreciated. Our Marketing team has planned how we want the world to perceive this car and its message, they have also worked hard to achieve a great innovation plan. Under the guidance of our mentors, we hope to succeed in this challenge but to also leave an impression on our fellow competitors and all around the Fujairah community.”
